Visitor Center Uses LED Display Technology to Enhance Experience
The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (KSCVC) is a tourist attraction in Cape Canaveral offering exhibits, shows, and tours that showcase the history and future of NASA’s space program. The visitor’s center is located next to the famous Launch Complex 39, where operations for the Apollo, Skylab, and Space Shuttle programs were carried out. It’s also adjacent to the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
The KSCVC has undergone major enhancements in recent years, including the implementation of LED video technology by SNA Displays to improve visitor experience. The most notable of those upgrades is the Kennedy Entry Experience, but others include large LED kiosks and the NASA Trailblazers exhibit.
SNA Displays is the exclusive sponsor of the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex Entry Experience.
Kennedy Entry Experience
The Kennedy Entry Experience is a 3,000-square-foot LED spectacular situated at the entrance area of the KSCVC. Visitors are able to walk up to the massive ground-level display, which stands at 30 feet tall and extends 98 feet wide.
The Entry Experience is designed to stimulate interest in space exploration and tell the story of NASA: past, present, and future. It frequently runs a six-minute animation with stunning 3D and forced-perspective content.
The freestanding screen was built with EMPIRE™ Exterior LED display technology and employs a 6.6 mm pixel pitch. The Kennedy Entry Experience has a resolution of 1,368 x 4,464 and contains more than 6.1 million pixels. Designed with a smooth, seamless curve with a tight five-foot radius, it’s optimally designed for anamorphic content, which can create astounding 3D illusions from a specific vantage point.
In addition to immersive themed content, the visitor complex will show live-input video of launches and other events as well as various event messaging.

Built for Robustness in Potentially Harsh Environment
In addition to being integrated into the visitor center's emergency system to alert park guests of inclement weather events, the Entry Experience is built with a steel structure designed to withstand 150-mph winds. Additionally, it includes a lightning protection system providing overcurrent protection during storms.

Large Outdoor LED Kiosks
To welcome guests with wayfinding and other visitor center information with crisp, clear content in the bright southern Florida sun, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex chose large exterior LED kiosks from SNA Displays. The EMPIRE™ Exterior LED kiosks are vertically oriented and employ a tight 3.9 mm pixel pitch for added clarity. The 85" LED totems have a resolution of 448 x 320 pixels.
The kiosks are equipped with anti-glare technology for optimal readability. Given the tight pixel pitch, the kiosks are capable of small text and colorful imagery with crystal clarity that engages guests as soon as they enter the park

NASA Trailblazers Exhibit
SNA Displays provided a curved indoor LED screen for the visitor complex's NASA Trailblazers exhibit. The interactive exhibit is located in the Heroes and Legends building at the complex and highlights trailblazers who have helped the aerospace industry explore new heights.
The 2.5 mm BOLD™ Interior LED video display, which is wall-mounted with a slight concave curve, measures 6' high x 10'6" wide (720 x 1,280 pixels) and is flanked by several informational placards reminiscent of spaceship portholes. The direct-view LED is paired with an integrated QSC touchscreen allowing visitors to select from a variety of programming options to alter the content of the video screen. User selections trigger playback for a seamlessly interactive experience.
Content playback and control is powered by ~sedna Media Engine SE and Player Platinum, and ~sedna Creator serves as the content management solution.
