EMPIRE™ Exterior LED Screen Shines in Los Angeles’ Koreatown
Los Angeles is quickly starting to rival New York City for its number of spectacular and mega-spectacular LED screens manufactured by SNA Displays. One such example of this digital out-of-home (OOH) media is the EMPIRE™ Exterior display on the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and South Western Avenue, next to the Wilshire/Western Station in LA’s Koreatown. This direct-view LED, referred to as Wilshire West, is also across the street from The Wiltern Theatre, a 12-story, blue-green building that is considered one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in the United States.
Jamison Properties, one of the largest private landlords in Los Angeles, directly commissioned SNA Displays and installer Jones Sign to build and install the large-format digital display for its Solair Wilshire location, which is “recognized throughout Southern California as one of the premier high-rise residential and commercial buildings in Los Angeles County.”
The digital billboard employs a 10 mm pixel pitch at a resolution of 600 pixels high (19'8") by 1,216 pixels wide (39'11"), giving it 729,600 total pixels. It is also designed and mounted to match the curve of the building façade, further integrating the display into the architecture.
The billboard is run by digital media company Branded Cities.
