Rogers Centre Gardiner LED Pylon

SNA Displays overhauled a digital pylon sign outside the south side of the Rogers Centre as part of a series of video upgrades to the Blue Jays’ home stadium. The 124-foot-tall pylon is across from the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway at the corner of Bremner Blvd. and Rees St. The LED display stands out from similar displays at one of the highest-visibility areas of downtown Toronto for its fully wrapped screen and illuminated pole cladding.

Owner-representative Anthony James Partners (AJP) collaborated with the Blue Jays to provide design, procurement, and construction administration services for the reimagined Gardiner LED pylon marquee, selecting SNA Displays to provide 10 mm EMPIRE™ Exterior LED video technology for the retrofit.

Each main face of the Rogers Centre Gardiner LED pylon display is approximately 31 feet tall x 55 feet wide. The fully wrapped screen features 158 feet of continuous LED video at a resolution of 936 x 4,736 pixels. Each end of the 360-degree screen has a tight radius of 7’4”, giving the entire display structure a depth of 14 feet that accommodates interior catwalks for improved service and maintenance access. In total, the display processes 4.4 million pixels across approximately 4,800 square feet of digital canvas.

Other upgrades include illuminated channel lettering, Blue Jays logos, and pylon cladding with accent lights from Atec Signs, which provided demo and installation services. Color-changing RGBW lighting accents, integrated with Traxon Direct View and Wash RGBW lighting fixtures, offer programmable color effects not available as part of the previous signage system.
