LED MARQUEE FOR THE FAMOUS PALACE theater

SNA Displays manufactured a 10 mm EMPIRE™ Exterior LED marquee above the 47th Street entrance to the famed Palace Theater in Times Square. The Broadway venue was first opened in 1913 and underwent major renovation in 2022 as part of construction for TSX Broadway, including lifting the entire theater thirty feet. The 90-foot-long, three-sided digital marquee is 8'8" tall with a resolution of 264 x 2,720 pixels and processes more than 700,000 pixels.

TSX Broadway is a 46-story mixed-use development at 1568 Broadway in New York’s Times Square most recognized by a massive LED mega-spectacular display system that wraps around the high-rise and has a built-in stage for live performances.

The Palace Theater was featured on an episode of America ByDesign: Architecture, a CBS program that introduces mass audiences to the latest trends in contemporary design. By highlighting architects and architecture, the show honors American innovation, ingenuity, and design excellence. First going live in early 2024 as part of the TSX Broadway debut, the Palace Theater LED marquee made it to primetime television on May 3, 2025, in a story about the theater's renovation that included the technological upgrade to the venue's marquee.

The Palace Theater is owned and operated by the Nederlander Organization, one of the largest operators of live theaters and music venues in the United States. Lisa Rose Merrick, director of facilities for the Nederlander Organization, had this to say of SNA Displays' role in the theater's revitalization:
