SNA Displays Installs Digital Signage Network in New Mixed-Use Destination in North Hollywood
SNA Displays manufactured and supplied three outdoor LED screens at NOHO West, a retail and entertainment destination in the heart of North Hollywood right off of 170/Hollywood Freeway. All three digital screens come from SNA Displays’ EMPIRE line of exterior LED display products and combine to over 2,000 square feet of outdoor digital signage to be used primarily for out-of-home (OOH) advertising. OOH media company BIG Outdoor owns and operates the new display system, managing all media sales and content scheduling.
South Display
The horizontally oriented outdoor LED screen on the shopping center's south side is approximately 23' high by 40' wide (580 pixels high by 1,005 pixels wide) and uses a 12 mm pixel pitch.
North Display
The vertically oriented display on the north side of the property is approximately 32' high by 19' wide (820 pixels x 480 pixels) and uses a 12 mm pixel pitch. About one-third of the portrait-style LED screen extends above the roof of the building to which it is mounted. It is positioned toward the freeway next to other signage indicating what stores are at the shopping center.
Both the north and south displays face outward to draw guests into the onsite attractions.
Middle Display
The third LED display screen is approximately 17' high by 33' wide (660 pixels x 1,240 pixels) and uses an 8 mm pixel pitch. It faces the interior of the open-air mall across the street from a future movie theater where patrons can see the display upon exiting the theater. It is meant to be more versatile than the north and south displays, showing event information, third-party advertising, and even movie nights.
The trio of façade-mounted LED video screens contain approximately 1.8 million total pixels.
In addition to manufacturing the LED screens, SNA Displays installed 10 double-sided LCD kiosks on the property.
SNA Displays provided project management for the duration of the project while sign installer YESCO managed installation of the LED displays themselves. Low-voltage contractor Tri-R designed a creative and highly efficient data transfer system and internet connection that patches the displays to the building control and keeps all three displays on the same network.
