Spartan Stadium - "The Woodshed"

SNA Displays upgraded the fan experience at Michigan State University's Spartan Stadium, delivering 15,000 sqft of LED display technology improvements throughout the venue. The refresh included three large video boards, a Monster Ribbon Board, and several field-level LED ribbons.

The 75,000-seat venue is one of the most-attended football stadiums in the NCAA.

South End of Stadium

The south end zone video scoreboard, the stadium's centerpiece, was upsized about 1,000 sqft, improving image clarity with a tighter pixel pitch. The upgraded videoboard measures 47’ tall x 132’ wide (1,440 x 4,032 pixels) for a total surface area of 6,250 square feet. It processes 5.8 million pixels.

A 94-foot-long field-level LED ribbon board behind the south end zone was also upgraded.

North End of Stadium

The two video scoreboards in the stadium's northeast and northwest corners each measure 31’6” tall x 52’6” wide (960 x 1,600). They are connected by the Monster Ribbon Board, a 10-foot-tall video screen that runs nearly 450 feet around the stadium. The curved LED fascia has a resolution of 912 x 13,600 and processes 4.2 million pixels.

A pair of field-level LED displays at the north end measure 3'11" x 38'10" (120 x 1,184) each.

Owner-representative Anthony James Partners (AJP) provided design and procurement services as well as technology selection. Eastern Sign Tech was hired to fabricate new Spartans logos and LED-illuminated channel signage and to provide demolition and installation services.
