House on Sunset Hybrid Billboard
The Amazon-sponsored hybrid billboard on top of the famous House on Sunset in West Hollywood is a combination of tapered 10 mm THRUMEDIA® LED strips from SNA Displays, static signage, and 30-inch, curved steel tubes. Sitting at the intersection of Sunset Blvd. and Corey Ave., the digital-out-of-home (DOOH) platform faces northeast-bound traffic on Sunset Blvd.
Orange Barrel Media (OBM), a leader in unique outdoor media, designed and operates the House on Sunset display. OBM’s design drew inspiration from historic Hollywood gantry signage, modernized via programmable LED strips attached to an exposed steel gantry next to a three-dimensional static cabinet.
The DOOH platform’s LED strips are spaced 20 mm apart to provide transparency, and the virtual resolution of the video display is 1,222 pixels high by 712 pixels wide. The vertically oriented billboard is approximately 40' x 23'4", with the transparent LED stick element comprising half of the display.
YESCO provided sign installation services.
