Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) 34th Street
SNA Displays manufactured a large-format LED video display for use above Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) at the northwest corner of 34th Street and 7th Avenue in New York City. On the southern edge of the Garment District, the new display is close to Penn Station and outside one of the busiest subway hubs in Manhattan. Other noteworthy landmarks nearby include Madison Square Garden, the Empire State Building, and Macy’s.
SNA Displays worked with audio visual technology specialist AVI-SPL to bring this project to life.
The digital screen, from SNA Displays’ EMPIRE™ Exterior line of outdoor LED video technology, is visible from behind the building’s glass façade. It is 25'2" high by 28'4" wide with a resolution of 768 x 864 pixels, giving it more than 660,000 total pixels. The DSW display employs a 10 mm pixel pitch, which means the distance between the center of one pixel and an adjacent pixel is a little over three-eighths of an inch.
Both Designer Shoe Warehouse and Capitol One, located in the same building, use the display for promotional purposes.
