7th and H Street NW, Washington, D.C.

SNA Displays manufactured the trio of LED screens on the corner of 7th and H Street NW, Washington, D.C., catty-corner to one of the main Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro entrances. The digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising platforms are in the heart of a major shopping and dining district of downtown Washington, D.C. known as Penn Quarter and about a block from several other prominent outdoor LED screens manufactured by SNA Displays: Capital One Arena and the Gallery Place Chinatown display.

Jack Stone Signs installed the three convex digital screens, which come from SNA Displays’ EMPIRE™ line of exterior LED displays, onto the curved façade of an AT&T store right next to the iconic Chinatown archway. They are integrated into the curving building façade to account for unique architectural elements such as pillars. Because of the atypical building design and the curve of each LED screen, the three displays capture the entire intersection. In other words, no matter which way pedestrians or motorists approach the screens, the content is fully visible – a feature unavailable to flat screens.

The outdoor digital displays replaced outdated flat screens. Each LED screen employs a 10 mm pixel pitch. At 8'10" tall by 15'9" wide (270 pixels high by 480 pixels wide) they have nearly 390,000 total pixels.

According to Orange Barrel Media, a premier outdoor media company that manages the OOH displays, “This Gallery Place street corner is home to one of our most iconic digital displays.”

Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) Advertising

Digital out-of-home (OOH) advertising is a steadily growing industry, replacing the tried-and-true, legacy OOH media. Attention-grabbing digital billboards are the new game in town, not to mention a more effective means of creating lasting impressions for people on the go.

LED screens are invaluable methods of delivering advertisements, messaging, and entertainment to travelers in public spaces, and media companies are taking full advantage of the latest in digital display technology to spark the imagination, drive curiosity, and, most importantly, get people engaged.

Investing in cutting-edge video display technology now allows a customizable, changeable content platform for years to come.
