49 LANSDOWNE: FENWAY PARK
Sansi North America (SNA) installed an outdoor LED billboard outside Fenway Park. The digital signage, located at 49 Lansdowne Street, is managed by Orange Barrel Media.
The LED billboard features a high-resolution 12 mm pixel pitch, meaning the center a pixel is only .47 inches from the center of an adjacent pixel. With a standard advertising billboard size of 14' high by 48' wide, the LED screen consists of 413,100 pixels (340 x 1,215).
All aspects of the display's support equipment are painted "Fenway Green," including the LED cabinets, structural steel and mast. To keep the digital display in line with the historic look and feel of the area, classic neon letters were mounted on the side of the structure and point pedestrians to Gate E of Fenway Park. SNA partnered with Back Bay Sign for installation services.
SMD Packaging Technology
The billboard employ surface-mount device (SMD) technology, where the LEDs in each pixel are packaged together, allowing for crisp, clear imagery and a widened viewing experience. SNA provides the widest offering of SMD technology in the LED display industry, from fine-pitch interior screens to broad-pitch exterior displays and everything in between.
SNA & Fenway Park
The LED billboard at 49 Lansdowne is one of multiple LED projects around Fenway Park. Another exterior billboard at Ipswich and Lansdowne is located atop the Ipswich garage. Additionally, SNA installed an LED display for the Red Sox Foundation which faces the Massachusetts Turnpike and displays the charitable funds raised by the foundation.
