Sansi North America (SNA) manufactured and supplied the huge LED Cube that sits atop the Microsoft Technology Center at 11 Times Square in New York City.
This custom-designed LED video display system features three square LED faces above the intersection of 42nd and 8th.
Each LED screen is 26 feet by 26 feet and consists of just over 246,000 pixels (496 x 496). The display features a 16 mm pixel pitch and SMD packaging technology. The LED Cube consists of 738,048 pixels in total.
SMD Packaging Technology
All LED Cube video screens employ surface-mount device (SMD) technology, where the LEDs in each pixel are packaged together, allowing for crisp, clear imagery and a widened viewing experience. SNA provides the widest offering of SMD technology in the LED display industry, from fine-pitch interior screens to broad-pitch exterior displays and everything in between.
