HANOVER, MD—SNA Displays completed a five-screen LED display system at The HALL at Live!, a new multi-use concert and event venue at Live! Casino & Hotel in Hanover, Maryland. The state-of-the-art venue features concerts, comedy shows, prize fighting, and other live entertainment.
SNA Displays manufactured and installed all LED display technology for the venue’s managing partner, The Cordish Companies, a real estate development and entertainment operating company headquartered in Baltimore. Frank M. Cipolla, the company’s director of construction, managed the design, development, contracting, construction, and follow-through for the project.
“The SNA team was easy to work with, professional and knowledgeable, and dedicated to delivering a quality product,” said Cipolla. “The responsiveness by the key team members addressing issues and their commitment to getting the project completed and correct was enjoyable and satisfying.
SNA Displays provided three large-format LED screens and an LED ribbon display in The HALL’s main events room and another large-format display in the venue’s lobby.
Several pixel pitch products were used for the project, including 2.5 mm (lobby display and two main room screens), 2.9 mm (center display in main room), and 6.0 mm (ribbon in main room).
All LED displays were produced from SNA Displays’ BOLD™ interior product line.
The HALL at Live!’s feature display, the main room’s center screen, is 16 feet high and 56 feet wide. In total, the venue now showcases approximately 2,600 square feet of LED video canvas and nearly 28 million pixels.
“It was truly a privilege to be part of this construction team,” said Mikell Senger, SNA Displays’ project manager who oversaw planning and coordination for the development’s digital displays. “This was certainly an ambitious project with integration and logistical challenges, but everyone involved really came through.”
The project team, led by architect Klai Juba Wald, included AV consultant Coherent Design, who worked alongside The Cordish Companies throughout the project
“It is always a pleasure working with the Coherent Design team,” said Senger. “Their A/V expertise was in full form on this project, and together we helped create a stunning event space that accommodate any number of major live events.”
According to Senger, the project’s success depended on meeting a demanding and aggressive timeline.
“We worked around the clock and over weekends to ensure a successful soft opening for this venue,” he said. “Cordish had a very specific vision, and thanks to the tireless efforts of the team, including our SNAPros, we were able to deliver the positive result that ownership was looking for.”
