Michael Russo to Run Health and Safety Operations at SNA Displays

NEW YORK—Health and safety expert Michael Russo recently joined SNA Displays and will be  based out of the company’s New York City headquarters. Russo previously worked as the director of safety and quality at Safeway Construction Enterprises and spent many years at National Grid.

“I was drawn to SNA Displays because of the spectacular work the company does,” said Russo, who will be reporting to SNA Displays’ vice president of operations, Anne St. Mauro. “I’ve never seen anything like it before, and I look forward to managing the SNA team’s comprehensive health and safety program.”

Russo supervised the 2001 decommissioning and demolition of the Maspeth Gas Holders, a high-profile controlled demolition of 400-foot-tall natural gas towers in Brooklyn. In addition, he developed a special training course for the NYPD’s Counterterrorism Division to improve the unit’s ability to protect critical facilities following the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

“Michael’s extensive career and impressive accomplishments will be a huge asset to SNA Displays’ operations team,” said St. Mauro. “Safety is a priority in all areas of our work, and his input will ensure workplace safety and compliance are unparalleled.”

A New York native, Russo grew up in Brooklyn. He noted that he is especially proud of his daughter, who holds a PhD and works as a neuroscientist, and his son, who is a healthcare financial analyst working towards a master’s degree. Russo and his wife recently welcomed their first grandchild.
