PHILADELPHIA, PA—The Fashion District of Philadelphia, a 900,000-square-foot joint venture between real-estate developers PREIT and Macerich, recently added a mixture of indoor and outdoor direct-view LED screens from SNA Displays.
The displays are part of a comprehensive promotional platform created for the project by Sensory Interactive. This promotional platform uses a wide range of digital and static elements on the project’s interior and exterior to animate the building façade, deliver sponsored content, and promote the project and its tenants.
Four of the new screens are from SNA Displays’ line of EMPIRE™ exterior products. They each employ a 6.67 mm pixel pitch and come in a variety of sizes and resolutions. The outdoor LED displays can be seen along Market Street at 9th, 10th, and 11th Streets.
The fifth digital display, a double-sided BOLD™ interior LED product, is 17’1″ high by 11′ wide (870 x 560 pixels). The hanging indoor screen, which sports a 6.0 mm pixel pitch, is an overhead advertisement platform that rotates, making it viewable from all directions without blocking the storefronts.
Combined, the five displays have almost 9 million pixels and cover more than 4,000 square feet of digital canvas. YESCO and Eastern Sign Tech installed the exterior displays while The South Shore Sign Company installed the interior rotating screen and fabricated and installed its support structure.
The displays are part of the Macerich Digital Network, which connects and integrates display assets throughout the company’s portfolio. This network, which Sensory Interactive has helped Macerich to develop over a period of several years, allows Macerich to deploy advertising and sponsorship campaigns at a corporate level, while also accommodating local campaigns and content. The integrated nature of the network also enables Macerich to synchronize content on digital elements throughout a property, or even across multiple properties in the network.
The Fashion District of Philadelphia will feature workspaces and dozens of shopping, dining, and entertainment destinations.
