Standing Out: LED Pylons on the Rise

Billboards have looooong been an effective form of advertising. They feel like a slice of Americana, but leaving BIG messages for passersby has been a human endeavor dating to prehistoric times. Modern billboards, through the growth of large-format video and other technologies, are undergoing significant change in scale and design, not to mention reach.

At SNA Displays, we do love working with partners and clients to build big things. We’ve been fortunate to help build some impressive billboards, including some LED pylons that raise the bar by blending cutting-edge video with bold design and quality workmanship. A couple examples — the Toronto Blue Jays’ Gardiner pylon and Los Angeles Football Club’s The Towers® — are featured below. These types of BIG video platforms are definitely on the rise. And they’re not just standing tall, they’re standing out.

ROGERS CENTRE GARDINER PYLON

Originally a conventional two-sided billboard, the new-and-improved pylon now features 158 feet of curved, continuous, fully-wrapped LED video. With top-to-bottom accent lighting and new illuminated Blue Jays logos and channel letters, the 124-foot-tall Gardiner pylon truly stands out.

We partnered with the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and KEVANI on two of the largest freestanding LED pylons in SoCal, comprising 9,400 ft2 of digital canvas. With three seamlessly assembled faces, these DOOH towers serve as an extension of LAFC’s branding and messaging along one of the busiest roadways in America.
