Paul England is a senior director of design solutions with SNA Displays. He works with artists, designers, architects, consultants, and content creators on a variety of initiatives, including technology training and project design. A veteran in the AV and digital signage industries, Paul is a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) and a master-level Certified Professional Training Management (CPTM) specialist. He also holds a private pilot certificate and is a 2d Lt. in the Civil Air Patrol in addition to being an MU1 in the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
As Senior Director of Design Solutions, I’m very fortunate that my role at SNA Displays allows me to stay close to some of the artists, designers, and architects that provide beauty and meaning to our industry. I’m also fortunate that my company supports the work of these people and firms through membership organizations, sponsorships, company & personal profiles, collaborations, and other promotional work. (On that note, hit me up if you’d like to work together!)
One avenue SNA Displays supports artists — and supports supporters of artists! — is through CODAworx. This is a great organization that provides a platform for creative professionals to showcase their work. They also help connect these folks to commissioned opportunities. We’ve worked with CODAworx for years at conferences, other events, and even get to provide scholarships that allow artists to attend the annual CODAsummit.
CODAzine and the Interviews Series
CODAzine is CODAworx’ online magazine created to deliver news to the global public art industry and cover stories, projects, and ideas that shape public art. Earlier this year, CODAzine began publishing a new interview series—aptly called Interviews—in which they will profile artists and other creators.
We are delighted to partner with CODAworx to sponsor this series, and I personally can’t wait to see who they’ll profile. (See below for the first installment!)
From CODAworx:
This article series shines a light on creatives who work at the intersection of technology, placemaking, and public art, influencing our culture and environment with cutting-edge technology, visionary design, and important messaging. Common threads include:
- Raising awareness about environmental and social issues
- Teaching their audience about the power of innovation and creativity
- Contributing to healing and hospitality environments
- Fostering community engagement and pride
- Transforming public spaces with commissioned art that enhances where we live, work, and play
