To even better meet the needs of our customers, we’ve reshaped one of SNA Displays’ key differentiators in the marketplace: our Systems team. This involved some personnel changes and an expansion of what is now the Products & Solutions team, but mainly it entails a shift in our approach to the development of products and how we solve technical problems. The move from a systems-only approach, which devoted almost exclusive attention to design and build, allows our team to more readily focus on solutions design and better product development. One recent success of our new Products & Solutions team identifying a need in the marketplace and developing a strategy – and ultimately the right solution – is SNA Displays’ new brightness management software suite, ASTRO™.
Stew Ives, a technical leader in the digital signage and AV industry, has been named Vice President of Products & Solutions and will continue to lead this group. New-hire Solutions Architect Haseeb Khalid was brought onboard to develop complex content management systems, and other staff moves include David Kile to senior director of solutions and Bob May to director of solutions development.

“By realigning the build component of our installations to our project management division, we can focus our efforts on improving our already-outstanding products as well as developing solutions that enhance and take full advantage of our offerings,” said Ives. “Much of my day-to-day is incorporating product feedback and relaying it to our software and hardware engineering teams while ensuring we stay on top of industry trends and deliver reliable products that create these beautiful canvases that we’re known for.”
Ives comes from an educational and professional background in live production, where “the show must go on,” a mantra that resonates in a digital signage space where ads must run 24/7, video scoreboards must entertain fans without interruption, and corporate lobbies must always impress. For those charged with managing the equipment that makes a live production possible, Ives adds another rule: “It has to perform when it’s time to go on stage.”
What are these Products and Solutions anyway?
The products part of Products & Solutions are the tangible hardware that SNA Displays provides as part of its turnkey installations. A key factor here is expert knowledge of SNA Displays’ LED video technology and video processors as well as sourcing all of the other components that make up a complete content management system. It also includes developing various processing tools needed to control what’s happening on screen.
However, it is perhaps the solutions that make our digital canvases look their best, even if you can’t truly hold a solution in your hands. Solutions include the diagnostics suites and the technical know-how to perfectly calibrate a canvas or a network of multiple screens. It’s also the systems architecture used to create the right backend systems for the job and the ability to problem-solve when something unexpected happens.
In addition to designing and setting the criteria for the systems and technology required to run digital displays, the Products & Solutions team provides timely and accurate diagnostics to give customers essential data related to their display system. This proactive monitoring allows us to diagnose and resolve a problem before it becomes obvious. Because its input is vital to proper display operation, this team collaborates with the company’s sales and project management teams and has a hand in many key phases of an LED installation or retrofit.
Solutions Architect
With the continued expansion of SNA Displays’ solutions department, and an increase in new large-scale projects, Ives and Kile identified the need for a dedicated solutions architect to develop complex CMS designs and assist with onsite commissioning of these systems.
The solutions architect works with both the pre-sales and post-sales teams, along with the project management team, to design and develop the backend systems required to operate everything from a small corporate conference room to a Times Square LED spectacular to an entire professional sports venue. This role is a key technical resource who is an expert on SNA Displays’ hardware, along with all the different types of commercial and broadcast AV equipment used to create a turnkey system. In essence, the solutions architect is the front line of SNA Displays’ design process.
“I am excited to welcome Haseeb with his extensive broadcast experience to SNA,” said Kile. “His broad knowledge of broadcast and AV gear will be an asset to help develop the next generation of cutting-edge SNA CMS solutions.”

In short, the Solutions Architect position gives SNA Displays more flexibility and capacity to provide the right product packages for a growing number of projects of widely varying types and sizes.
“We are extremely excited to continue expanding our ability to serve our customers with the latest in industry advancements and best practices,” said Ives.
