A Trip to SNA Displays’ National Service & Repair Facility

During a recent visit to SNA Displays’ Atlanta office to ring in the opening day of the Masters Tournament with some of our channel partners, I was able to swing by our National Service & Repair Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. After two years of limited travel and contact only through online means, it was refreshing to actually meet more of my coworkers face-to-face and get hands-on experience with our display products. As a writer, I can get a good amount of important information from technical drawings and photos, but nothing compares to tactile learning.

Among the great SNAPros I met in Knoxville, including systems engineers, warehouse staff, and logistics personnel, I met and learned a great deal about our service and repair facility from Tim Joseph, an IPC A-610 and J Standard Master Technician. (Side note: he knows a lot more than me.)

Whereas many competitor providers must send parts back to their overseas factories, Tim showed me how we save customers a good deal of time and money by managing repairs from a US-based facility. He also told me that although the vast majority of repairs are handled efficiently in Knoxville, some repairs require travel to the project site. Regardless of where the repairs occur, however, our SNAPros have pulled off a few minor miracles, including, for example, successfully restoring LED panels missing more than half of their pixels due to damage in shipping.

I’m very thankful for Tim taking the time to show me the ropes, including fixing louvers, replacing diodes, soldering pieces, troubleshooting issues, and much more.

While I was in Knoxville, I was also able to meet Taylor Foster, SNA Displays’ logistics manager, who taught me about logistics, explained domestic and international shipping processes, showed me some really cool tools of the trade, and shared a few success stories.

SNA Displays has a people-first mentality and the hospitality I received at Knoxville truly exemplified that core value.
