As we close out another year, we at SNA Displays wanted to take a quick pause and reflect on the previous twelve months. So, to take stock of 2022, appreciate accomplishments, and set the pace for 2023, here’s a sampling of what SNA Displays has been up to.
Sports & Live Events
As big in-person events continue to bounce back, venues are increasingly getting updates, digital signage upgrades, and other improvements. SNA Displays has seen continued growth in several related verticals, including professional sports, college sports, eSports, and other mixed-use, live-event spaces. Here are a few highlights:
New LED Mega-Spectacular on the Scene
It’s not often the digital signage industry has the opportunity to unveil LED mega-spectaculars, but this year we were fortunate to work with Consumer Experience Group, Lightstone, and Branded Cities to bring a behemoth digital-out-of-home (DOOH) LED display to the façade of the Moxy and AC Hotel Downtown Los Angeles. The 15,000-square-foot video wall, known as “The Moxy” is located across from the LA Convention Center, L.A. LIVE, and Crypto.com Arena and extends the length of a football field, curving around the building façade at the busy intersection of S Figueroa and W Pico.
The screen has changed the face of DTLA, often showcasing amazing content, like this delightful 3D advertisement for League of Legends.
Some Great Projects and Collaborations
SNA Displays completed a wide range of projects in 2022, ranging from modest indoor displays to simple retrofits to massive outdoor spectaculars to vast digital signage networks at large venues and corporate campuses. And those are just the projects we can talk about! We also had the opportunity to work with many of our old friends and some new ones too.
In Case You Missed It
This year, Limelight (our site blog) continued to give us a platform to pursue and share with the world SNA Displays’ core values: communicate, have fun, never stop learning, do what you do best, total project satisfaction, and people first. Here are a few of our favorites:
We also had the opportunity to talk tech with industry professionals and share mutual appreciation about some of our partnerships with AV integrators.
This year SNA Displays was honored to receive recognition from industry peers. As part of the Digital Signage Experience (DSE) reboot in 2022, SNA Displays – along with the amazing Moment Factory – took home the award for Best Digital Signage Experience of the Year for work at the AT&T Discovery District in Dallas. The District also won in its category, Public Spaces.
The Orbit Retail Experience, an interactive touchless digital experience, also won some awards this year. In addition to the DIZZIE for Experiential Design & Planning, The Orbit won the ICX Association Elevate Award for Best Omnichannel Interactive Customer Experience for “achievements in using interactive technologies to create a transcendent customer experience that captivates and engages customers across multiple channels, such as mobile, web and in-store.”
The jury’s still out on a few more potential awards, namely four projects shortlisted for the 2023 Digital Signage Awards:
- Gagosian LED Cube (museums and historic sites)
- Hewlett Packard Enterprise (corporate and workplace)
- The Moxy DTLA (digital-out-of-home media)
- Tech Port Center + Arena (sports and entertainment)
This year, we added several more eBriefs to our educational series. Stay tuned for more in 2023.
And that wraps up our 2022 year-end review. Cheers to the opportunities around the corner!
